a few things worth knowing.
Which Android devices are supported?
BookRack supports phones, tablets and Android-based E-Ink devices running Android 14 or later. It offers E-Ink page transitions and display settings, with optional manufacturer pen acceleration on compatible BOOX pen devices. eReaders that cannot install Android apps are not supported.
Which file formats can I read?
Read EPUB, PDF, Markdown (MD), TXT, ZIP/CBZ and RAR/CBR comics, plus JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP and GIF images. You can also import and export BookRack notebooks (.brnote) and read external web pages.
What is different on E-Ink?
BookRack offers an E-Ink page transition mode, black-and-white optimization, grayscale, and text weight and clarity controls. Compatible BOOX pen devices can also use manufacturer pen acceleration. Actual ghosting, panel refresh and pen response depend on the device and firmware; the app does not directly control every device's panel refresh.
Can I read and write without internet?
Yes. Reading and handwriting on documents saved to your device work offline. Cloud sync, web reading and the initial download of AI upscaling models require a network connection.
How do books and notes sync?
Connect one storage service: Google Drive, WebDAV, FTP/FTPS or SMB 2/3. Sync books, handwriting and reading positions. If screen layouts or text sizes differ between devices, saved annotations can be viewed in their original layout. ZIP backup and restore, and Wi-Fi file transfer, are also supported.
